From humble beginnings with 5 students in 2015 to one of the top Schools in Nigeria, GRMS strives to provide quality Education using the Nigerian Academic Curriculum. To accomplish this we create a conducive environment for learning with the aid of modern class rooms and laboratories equipped with smart boards and excellent air conditioning. With our achievements over the years, both in the National and International arena, we have expanded to 6 different states of Nigeria, with over 1000 experienced and qualified academic and non-academic staffs of national and international background, and now provide quality education to over 4000 students consisting of 30 different nationalities. These are guidelines for the requirements for securing admission into Great Rubies Mine School. Requirements: Age: Children seeking admission to the following classes must have attained the class age by August 31st of the year of admission: Primary Children seeking admission to the following classes must have attained the class age by August 31st of the year of admission: Year 1 5+ years Year 2 6+ years Year 3 7+ years Year 4 8+ years Year 5 9+ years Year 6 10+ years Academic Requirements: The academic criteria for admission are: •Entrance form must be purchased, completed, and submitted before the entrance examination. •Pupils seeking admission from Reception to year 12 must take an entrance exam. •Preschoolers are not given written examinations. Written examinations starts from the Reception classes. Children are tested in Literacy and Numeracy.
•A current passport photograph •A copy of the child’s birth certificate •The previous term’s report card •A sample of exercise books for English, Mathematics and Science from the previous school •The benchmark to qualify for consideration for admission is at the discretion of the school. •Admission to Great Rubies Mine Secondary is automatic for pupils in Temple’s primary section, provided they pass the entrance examination. •Successful candidates and their parents are sometimes required to be interviewed by the Head of School or some senior staff of the school. Parents of students will be notified after the entrance examinations, if interviews are required. •After the entrance exam, admitted candidates would be given an offer letter, the school and uniform bills and the medical form. School fees must be fully paid before resumption of the student. School uniforms are available for sale at the school’s office. •The medical forms are to be completed and submitted on or before resumption. Reference A confidential Report must be completed by the students’ school for students applying for space in Years 5 and up. Parent’s Contact Information It is important for the school to be able to contact parents at any time, especially in case of emergencies. The school must have parent’s address (office and home), Phone numbers (home, mobile and business), and e-mail. The school should also be provided with the contact of a guardian in case of emergency. This information is required at the time of registration and whenever changes occur in the contact information of parents or the emergency contact.
